How to Install Bamboo Fence Panels to a Timber Fence or Frame

Firstly check that your fence or frame is structurally sound.

You will need an electric drill, brill bits, screws, and bamboo fence panels
These are the tools you will need.

The bamboo can attach to either side of the fence. You can attach the bamboo directly to the horizontal timbers or the framework supporting the fence. If the horizontal timbers aren’t on your side of the fence you can tell where they are by the row of nails on your side.

If attaching to a colorbond fence attach the screws to the top and bottom parts of the frame. You can use the same screws as long as you pre-drill before inserting screw.

  1. Unroll the bamboo panel and put it flat up against the fence (HALF BAMBOO PANELS - Place in position). If your yard holds a lot of moisture you may want to raise the bamboo slightly off the ground.
  2. While the bamboo panel is in place, pre-drill in the center of one of the bamboo sticks with a drill bit starting at a top corner.
  3. Use a 57-65mm exterior screw depending on thickness of bamboo (timber or chipboard screws will also do fine) to fasten the bamboo to the horizontal timber behind it. (Do not over-tighten the screw too much, as this may crack the bamboo stick).
  4. Continue to fasten the bamboo near the top while keeping the bamboo panel level. Then do the bottom by screwing in the mid points of the screws above. The screws should be approximately 25-30cm. apart. Regarding HALF BAMBOO PANELS you only need 2 screws on the top and 2 screws on the bottom. You can put a 3rd screw if you wish.

Secure the bamboo panels using a zigzag pattern
